Crowns
All-ceramic crowns are metal-free and are produced using a solid inner cap made of special materials. Alumina (a ceramic material) or zirconium are used to construct the coping, over which the ceramic is layered.
All-ceramic crowns are highly translucent and have a completely natural effect. In particular, all-ceramic crowns do not have the dark metal border near the gingiva that metal-ceramic crowns have.
Case: Multiple spaces (“diastemas”) due to small teeth. The spaces were closed with fixed orthodontic appliances, and two all-ceramic (alumina) crowns were placed on the lateral incisors.
