Professional hygiene
By professional hygiene we mean the teeth cleaning sessions performed by the dentist. Over time, the plaque calcifies and becomes calculus, which contains bacteria in it and over time causes gum disease.
Professional hygiene sessions are designed to remove caluclus (scaling) and bacterial plaque (deplaquing).
Professional oral hygiene sessions should be performed every 6 months.
In the presence of prosthetic restorations (bridges, crowns, implants) or after surgery for gum disease (periodontitis), professional oral hygiene sessions should be performed every 4 months.
Today, special ultrasonic instruments and instruments with a jet of air, water and glycine (air-polishing) allow to perform professional hygiene sessions quickly and in absolute comfort.
